C.A.R. COMMITTEE SELECTION OVERVIEW

TIMELINE FOR 2027 APPOINTMENTS

Committee Selection Process goes live in early March for members to make recommendations for Chair, Vice Chair, Issues Chair and Member positions on Standing, Special and Advisory Committees. More information on the policies for committee selections, descriptions/mission statements, and how to enter recommendations is available on the C.A.R. Committee Selection Process.

C.A.R. is notified by Association Executive of 2027 Association President of each local association (Deadline is May 15th).

C.A.R. is notified by 2026 Regional Chair of 2027 Nominating Committee Regional Representative & Alternate Member and 2027 Regional Chair & Assistant Regional Chair (Deadline is May 8th)

The deadline date for submitting 2027 C.A.R. Committee Leadership and Specialized/Advisory recommendations (Chair, Vice Chair or Issue Chair of Standing Committees, and Chair, Vice Chair or Members of Special or Advisory Committees) is Friday, May 8, 2026.

Leadership Team reviews all committee recommendations for Leadership and Members on Specialized/Advisory positions.

Members can submit recommendations ONLY for membership positions on Standing Committees after the May 8 deadline. 2027 Regional Chairs to notify C.A.R. via the online Committee Selection Process of 2027 C.A.R. Committee Regional Representatives/Liaisons.

The deadline date for both of the above items is Friday, July 31, 2026.

2027 C.A.R. Chairs, Vice Chairs, Executive Committee, Committee Liaisons, Strategic Planning & Finance Committee and Specialized/Advisory committee selections finalized. Respective appointees confirmed.

Members notified of 2027 appointments via email. Regional Chairs and Local Associations advised of appointments of members within the Region/Local Association who have been asked to serve on 2027 C.A.R. committees. Committee Leadership Rosters containing Chairs, Vice Chairs, Issues Chairs, and Committee Liaisons to be posted online.

Preliminary 2027 committee rosters are available to C.A.R. staff coordinators to share with their committee leadership.

Final committee rosters available to C.A.R. Staff Coordinators and committee leadership.

2027 Regional Chairs provided respective rosters of 2027 Directors and Committee members by Region.

NAR Committee Selection Timeline

• Instruction documents about the application and selection process are available on nar.realtor/committees.

• Committee Application Website opens for 2027 committees on March 1.
• Members complete/update their Expertise Profiles.
• Members submit a committee application for up to five (5) committees, and seek up to three (3) endorsements per application.
• Members submit endorsements for applicants.

• DEADLINE: Committee Application Website closes.

Committee application feedback window opens for:
• State AEs to recommend members for their state representative positions on committees.
• State associations review and submit feedback on applications received from members of their state.
• Institute, Societies, and Councils (ISC) EVPs recommend members for their ISC representative positions on committees.
• Multicultural partners provide recommendations for their representative positions on committees.

• DEADLINE: Recommendations due from State AEs and ISC EVPs on representative seats and committee applications.

• NAR Director allocations determined using membership numbers.

• Director submission website opens.

• 2027 Chair and Vice Chair appointment letters are emailed to members.

• Window for State AEs and ISC EVPs to review preliminary committee appointments for all members within their state/organization.

• Committee Leadership Camp virtual training sessions for selected 2027 chairs and vice chairs, committee liaisons, and staff executives. October 15, 2026 (Tentative).

• 2027 Committee member appointments are announced.

• DEADLINE: State associations and local boards submit director(s) names for director entitlement allocations. Failure to submit names on this date results in the association’s forfeiture of the allocated director seat.

• 2026 Committee terms end.
